1.6 Difficulties encountered during the compilation

During the compilation of the Nijmegen Arabic dictionaries we encountered several difficulties.

I have written special sections on a number of these difficulties, which can be summarized as follows:

1. a rather high number of descriptions
    

2. the lack of unified scientific and other terminology (under construction!)
    

3. the lack of genuine native speakers of MSA
    

4. MSA is not a real spoken language
    

5. the lack of reliable frequency lists of MSA
    

6. the absence of a voweled text corpus
   
   

7. neologisms in Arabic dictionaries
